This is a view of the Standard and Poor's 500 from November 2005 to November 2006.  This image was created with Line Graph Explorer. Each pixel row is a different stock in the S&P 500 and time runs left to right from 2005 and 2006.  The data has been normalized and hierarchically clustered to group similarly performing companies.

The title "Still Image" is a pun referring to the similarity of this display with the style of Clyfford Still (1904-1980). Still was one of the leading artists in the Abstract Expressionist movement.
